From concept to reality

Our mission is simple: Enable founders and leaders to leverage technology for business success, ensuring a seamless journey from concept to launch and beyond.

I help founders turn ideas, prototypes and early builds into working products.

As the business grows, I help put the technology, team and delivery approach in place to take it further.

You might be deciding what to build first, bringing together work from freelancers and AI coding tools, or working out how to move beyond your first MVP. You might already have a product and customers, but need support as your CTO leaves, delivery becomes harder to manage, or too much knowledge sits with too few people.

I can lead the build with a team, work alongside the people you already have, or act as an adviser as you work through the next decision. For SME owners and leaders, I also help make sense of where AI could fit into the business and what oversight new workflows and software need.

You don't need to arrive with a technical brief. A useful starting point is what you're trying to achieve—and what's getting in the way.

How we can work together

Advisory

An experienced technical thinking partner.

A place to work through decisions, challenge assumptions and find a sensible next step—without starting with a full CTO engagement.

Start-up CTO

Bring your idea and early work together into a product.

Practical technical leadership and a team to help you move from an idea or prototype to a focused MVP.

Turnaround CTO

Understand what you have. Get a clear plan for what comes next.

Senior technical support when leadership is changing, delivery is struggling, or the business has outgrown the way its technology is being managed.

AI advice & oversight for SMEs

Make AI a useful part of how your business works.

Practical advice on where AI fits, how to turn experiments into repeatable workflows, and what oversight your business needs.

How I approach the work

Understand the situation. Agree the next step. Stay close to the work.

Start with the business

I want to understand what you're trying to achieve, what you've already tried, and the constraints you're working within. The technical work should support those priorities, not become a separate agenda.

Find the right level of involvement

Not every problem needs a full build, a new team or a CTO several days a week. We agree the scope and level of support around the work that actually needs doing.

Bring in the right people

You work directly with me. Where the engagement needs more capacity or specialist skills, I bring in a team or work with the people you already have. We make responsibilities and the way we'll work together clear at the outset.

Make progress understandable

You should know what we're working on, why it matters, and which decisions need your input. I explain technical choices in business terms and raise concerns early, with a practical way forward where possible.

Build continuity, not dependence

I want your business and team to be better placed when the work is done. That includes sharing knowledge, keeping useful records and supporting a sensible handover when the time comes.

I'm Garry Taylor. I run GMT Software Consultancy.

I've always been interested in ideas—and in the practical work needed to bring them to life.

I combine hands-on software experience with technical leadership, working with founders, CEOs and senior teams from the first idea through to later stages of growth.

I enjoy getting to understand a business properly: what it's trying to achieve, how its product works, and what its people need to make progress. My role is to help you see the options clearly, make informed decisions and move the work forward.

That can mean advising you on a specific question, leading a team through an MVP, or helping an established business understand and improve its technology and delivery.

I'm based in London and bring in collaborators where their skills and experience will help the work.
